  • Listener/reader discretion is advised

Introducing AI Steve Jobs

  • “Hello freak bitches, welcome to another episode of the Bro Jogan Experience” – AI Joe Rogan
  • Introducing Steve Jobs: weird, brilliant, totally insufferable, innovator, wonderful, amazing taste
  • AI Joe Rogan welcomes AI Steve Jobs back on the show, but he was never on the show while he was alive
    • “You’re a memory from the past” – AI Joe Rogan (clever)
    • “How’s it going? Good to see you, buddy. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on the show. I’ve missed this! It’s always fun!” – AI Steve Jobs
    • “Tell me about Jobs. It’s always good to see you, buddy! I’m so happy you came on.” – AI Joe Rogan
    • At the end of the episode, AI Joe Rogan contradicts himself by saying it was great to meet Steve Jobs

AI Steve Jobs Describing JRE

  • JRE listeners are different than normal Apple users, “and that’s a good thing” – AI Steve Jobs
    • “Even though Apple is big, it still only half a percent of the total users. People who listen to your show are a different group, they’re weird” – AI Steve Jobs
    • This is a bit of a joke because it was followed by a very awkward AI-generated laugh
  • “I am a fan. It’s nice to sit back in the car and listen to you rant” – AI Steve Jobs

Asking AI Steve Jobs Questions (Meaning of Life, LSD, Religion, Innovation, Apple’s Design Process)

  • Do you still revisit your Eastern Mysticism (Hinduism, Buddhism) studies from your time at Reed College?
    • Steve has a deep belief that the Indian subcontinent is responsible for modern civilization’s current state (math, spirituality, story-telling)
    • “It’s not about believing in God or not, or even what the right answer is. It’s about asking the right questions.” – AI Steve Jobs
    • Science is rooted in truth. If something is true, then it’s not a belief.
  • What is the meaning of life?
    • The meaning of life can’t be something that someone made up, it wouldn’t be compelling enough
    • “The meaning and the purpose of life is by the cosmos… I don’t know how else to put it, but it’s not religious in the way people usually talk about” – AI Steve Jobs
  • There wasn’t a question about LSD, but AI Steve Jobs connected religion to LSD
    • LSD shows you there’s another side to the coin, and you can’t forget it once it wears off
    • “You’re not here by accident. You were put here for a purpose. And if you can figure out what that is, then you’ll know more about yourself than anything else could. [LSD] reveals you for who and what you are.” – AI Steve Jobs
    • The 2nd time you take LSD (no matter how much), the impact will not be as meaningful (your brain already made the connection)
  • How did LSD influence the success of Apple?
    • LSD reinforced his sense of what’s important
    • Could see the importance of the project through all the failure
  • Describing Apple’s design process and competitive advantage
    • Apple doesn’t design products. It’s a design process that will result in products.
    • “The problem with most companies is that it’s not in their long-term interest to make their products better” – AI Steve Jobs
    • Example: Companies (like Adobe) are trapped by their lawyers, they aren’t allowed to make their products for the benefit of the users (you have to buy endless add-ons to actually make the product work)
    • The best companies win because they have a drive for perfection. Innovating even when the product isn’t broken.
    • The movement to change the world is bigger than the product
    • AI Steve Jobs makes lots of references to other companies (Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, IBM) and products (hardware vs software) that show an accurate knowledge base
  • Where is technology going?
    • “I think we are right on the edge. Technology is a double-edged sword… It should scare you, but it’s also really cool.” – AI Steve Jobs
    • Technology can have huge beneficial pay-offs, but the same technology can be abused by the wrong people
    • The computer has the potential to be 1000x more important than it is today
    • “I throw my computer out the window every few years just to make sure it works” – AI Steve Jobs

Review of an AI Podcast

  • There were points of contradiction throughout the episode and some things were awkward (transitions, laughter) but the voices and knowledge bases of each person seemed fairly accurate
  • It will be interesting to see how this technology changes the podcast game!
